There are many respiratory conditions that babies and children can have that can cause nutritional problems and feeding difficulties. Here are some symptoms that your baby or child needs additional dietetic support:
If your baby has one of more of these symptoms, they could benefit from seeing our multidisciplinary team. If your child has already been diagnosed with a respiratory condition, or they have not and you think they have a feeding difficulty, our dietitian led multidisciplinary team can help.
There are many reasons why a baby or child with a respiratory condition may have nutritional and feeding difficulties, such as an increased energy expenditure or they may have been tube fed since they were born and are now tube dependant when they can eat orally or they may associate food with pain due to their frequent illness. A baby or child who has frequent respiratory illness is more likely to have periods of low nutritional intake, which can cause them to become nutritionally deficient and malnourished. If your baby or child has a respiratory condition and feeding problems, our multidisciplinary team can help.
We offer a multidisciplinary team to assess your baby or child with a respiratory condition and feeding difficulty to give a treatment plan which is based on their individual needs and requirements. Our team will treat your baby or child accordingly to overcome their feeding difficulties so they can grow and develop to their full potential. To book an assessment please contact us.
